Have you turned on the Touch feature on Windows 7 yet? That could be the reason why your touch screen feature is not working. To turn it on please follow this:1. Open your Start menu and type "Touch" into the search bar. This will show a variety of options, including the "Pen and Touch" options. Double-click it to open the "Pen and Touch" window.2. Check the boxes next to the "Use your finger as an input device" and, if preferred, check the "Enable multi-touch gestures and inking" box as well.3. Click "Apply" to set the options and click "OK" to exit the window.Hope this helps!

Touch Screen When I use the pen on the screen it works fine until it comes across a one inch section in the middle of the screen (that goes completely across the whole screen). After passing that dead area, the cursor finds the pen again. I heard when I upgraded to SP2 (WindowsXP) this may have caused the problem. The screen is seems fine and has not been damaged that I can tell. Have you heard of this before and can you tell me the cure? Thanks Bill Sommerville.

Just fixed this mine bought from ebay. (i) Remove the battery and disconnect the power supply!(ii)Use a pin to lift the six screw covers around the screen and remove the screws. (iii) Carefully remove the screen surround starting at the hinge. I used a mobile phone opening tool as this made it easy to unclip where necessary. (iv) Remove the four screws holding the screen in place and the one holding the screen invertor(?)(v) Place something soft over the keyboard and tilt the screen forward out of the lid onto it, You may have to remove some of the tape holding the ribbon cables to allow it to separate.(vi) There is a small PCB on the back that controls the digitiser. Two ribbon cables go to this nearest to the edge of the screen. Again you may have to remove tape to do the following. Lift the brown plastic clamps that hold the ribbons in place. I slid both ribbons out and checked the connections were clean and not corroded on the ribbon. Again I had to remove more adhesive tape to do this.(vii) Slide the ribbons back into place so they are fully home and close the clamps.(viii) Reassemble fitting all the tapes screws etc.The hardest bit is getting the screen and screen protector clean and free from dust while reassembling!!
