IBM X61 noteboot finger tip reader not functional.

Hi, On a new IBM X61 notebook (not tablet) the finger tip reader is not active. When running finger tip identification SW it claims that the finger tip device is not installed. Please advice. Best regards, Dori Leibovitz

Tablet PC 2005 Input Panel won't work.

Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.

Ibm thinkpad x61 reset to original bios rootkit problem ?

Hello, There are 2 ways you can reset your bios. 1. On the motherboard there is a small watch battery. Remove this battery along with the power cable from the power supply. Hold down the power button to fully discharge the system. Wait 2-3 minutes then reinstall the battery and plug in your system. Your reset is now complete 2. Some motherboards have a 3 pin jumper by the battery. Lets say that the jumper is on pins 2 and 3. Remove the jumper while the machine is OFF and place onto pins 1 and 2. Power on your machine for a minute. (Note: Your system will not POST). Shutdown your machine and put the jumper back to pins 2 and 3. Your reset is now complete This is a great step for those of you having POST issues or no POSTing at all. Like other troubleshooting steps, this will not always work but usually will depending on the problem. Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns. Thanks.

Lenovo X61 Tablet pen not functioning

Same here this sounds weird but you have to hit the screen with the pen.. in the long run it probably hurts the pc, but it fixes the problem.

Problem .......x61 tablet help !!!!!!!

Hello snapshots, I have an x61, and you may want to check that all of the keys on your keyboard are not damaged, and that none of them are stuck in the pressed position. That is what the "stuck key" message typically means. If you check out the keyboard, and all the keys are fine, and if you are still receiving this message, try calling Lenovo support. There is an off chance that your keyboard (or other components) may be slightly defective. Here is the link to the Lenovo site: http://lenovo.com/planetwide/select/selector.html Hope this helps! Jeff
