Audio feedback The built-in microphone and the built-in speakers cause audio feedback at normal volume settings. Are there settings for either the microphone or the speakers that will avoid this? Muting the speakers works, but I'd like to not have to do that.

Hi , If your still having problems with your C110, try Double clicking on the volume control speaker in the task bar in the lower - right corner of your desktop. When the volume control box opens , check the mute box on the line in control . I also mute the mic, and the phone line control if you have one . See how that works for you. I really notice the feed back when I use headphones.

Audio out-jack doesn't work

There is a physical connection that shuts off the speakers when you insert the plug and push the connection open. It may be damaged or stuck. Probably need to open the unit to see. Did this connection used to work?Don't force anything into the hole as this may already be the problem.

Screeching noise My thinkpad x60 tablet has started to make a screeching noise a lot of times when I turn the sound up. I dual boot vista and ubuntu but the noise is only in vista and I do not hear it when I go into rescue and recovery either. It sounds like a feedback problem from the onboard mic because whenever I rub my finger against the mic I can hear it through the speakers and the screeching noise changes. I have tried turning the sound down on the mic all the way to zero, but I can still hear the screeching noise and I can still hear noise from the mic through the speakers. I tried disabling the mic, but it disabled my entire speaker system and everything and I had to reinstall soundMAX. After doing that I got my sound back but the mic also. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar, select Open Volume Control. If you do not see the Microphone control select options>properties and select it from the list of check boxes. Press OK. Check the mute box for your microphone.

I fell off my longboard with my gateway m275 in my backpack, and did a roll on impact to reduce injury. It was not damaged in the fall, due to the way I handled the landing. However, I have discovered that my audio card must have come loose, as my speakers, microphone and sound section in the control panel have stopped working (in the control panel everything says not available). I need to know if this is the drivers or due to some sort of hardware failure. any help will be greatly appriciated. Thanks! -Forest-

I think that you actually shook the heck out of your hard drive. The smart thing to do would be to go to Gateway website and download driver for your sound card.Just to be on safe side, if you have any external speakers, plug them in and see what is happening. Then open your computer and push hard drive to connector. Good luck! And remember: What you can take without problems-electronic usually can't.
