Monitor shuts off

You can set your power management to ignore or control the time that your monitor, hard drive or other peripherals stay on in Control Panel or BIOS setup. It powers your monitor down to save the battery power so the computer itself does not shut down thereby losing data you may be working on. Familiarize yourself with the battery power length of time so you can determine whether this is normal or if you have a dying battery.

Lenovo X60 laptop display has stopped working

The backlight is broken. These are small flourescent tube lights about the width of a pencil lead. You dropped the laptop and the bulb broke. It will have to be replaced. The driver has nothing to do with your problem, reinstalling it will not get your picture back.

Laptop Screen Dull

Look a the screen real close, if you see a faint dark version of the image, this could be a backlight issue, otherwise a screen cable or a logic board issue. Backlight repairs are somewhat difficult. As much as I would like to be able to tell you a quickfix that will solve backlight the problem, it's a pretty arduous repair that requires 1-2 hours for a trained person. It's feasible to do it yourself if you're tech savy, but you'll most likely have to google for guides that show you exactly how to replace the backlight step by step. Check on how to take the screen apart and make sure inverter is still connected properly. If so, you have a backlight issue. I work for Computer Repair NYC and i have to fix this problem a lot, it's so easy to break the lightbulb in the process.

This information is intended for experienced users. It is not intended for basic users, hackers, or computer thieves. Please do not try any of following procedures if you are not familiar with computer hardware. I'll not be responsible for the use or misuse of this information, including personal injury, loss of data or hardware damage. So use it at your own risk. A. By Using the Motherboard Jumper: In most motherboards CMOS battery is soldered, which makes it difficult to remove the battery. In this case we use another method. Almost all motherboards contain a jumper that can clear all CMOS settings along with the BIOS password. The location of this jumper varies depending upon the motherboard brand. You should read your motherboard manual to check its location. If you don't have the manual then look for the jumpers near the CMOS battery. Most of the manufacturer label the jumper as CLR, CLEAR, CLEAR CMOS, etc. When you find the jumper, look carefully. There will be 3 pins and the jumper will be joining the center pin to either left or right pin. What you need to do, is remove the jumper and join the center pin to the opposite pin. e.g. if the jumper joins center pin to left pin, then remove it and join center pin to right pin. Now wait for a few seconds and then again remove the jumper and join the center pin to left pin. Make sure to turn the PC off before opening the cabinet and resetting the jumper. B. By Using Software: I have found that BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is the most effective.:BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool is a program that works instantly to remove any lost or forgotten BIOS/CMOS password. Simply boot your PC to DOS and execute the program, and get access to forgotten BIOS/CMOS passwords in just seconds BIOS/CMOS Password Recovery Tool Service:

Thinkpad tablet pen problem

It could be a problem with the pen but I am not positive. I knew someone who had a problem a little different from this but involving the pen not working how it should. They called the company they got the laptop from (Gateway in their case) and they were sent a new pen for free. Lenovo might do that if it's under warranty or you could buy a new pen. It could be a problem with the drivers, though, in which case I am not entirely sure what to do. Maybe reinstall?
