Missing key from keyboard

Hi folks - I stupidly lent my tablet to a friend and it came back missing the number "4" key from the keyboard. I found a site online that sells cannibalized keys from Fujitsu laptops but my T4210 tablet isn't listed as a compatible model for any of them, although several look like they have the same keys and seem to have the same hinges and mount. I've written Fujitsu but don't get any replies. Can anybody help me please? Thank you. ksmabbaKaren

Missing key from keyboard

I suggest trying eBay. You can find almost anything you need there and it's possible the key that you are looking for will be there. Is your tablet still within the warranty period? If so, contact them for a replacement. If they give you garbage about it, tell them you will report them to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General for the state that you live in. Also let them know that you will post in every forum you can find on the Internet about how crappy their customer service is. Since they don't want that to happen, they most likely will cough up the key. And don't let your friend use your tablet anymore!

Keyboard Jiberish I have a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook T4010D Tablet PC. I was using it outside when it started to rain. I got it out of the rain and I'm pretty sure it didn't get wet. I did however keep using it for about 3 hours when the keyboard became unresponsive. I shut it down and when I restatrted a few days later the keyboard writes jiberish. Every key does something other than what it should do. I'm thinking that the keyboard must have got wet and therefore needs replacing. Also, the 4 tablet buttons aren't working. Any ideas?

It could also be the logic board. Usually, there are weep / drainage holes in the bottom of the laptop. See if there's any traces of moisture there, and you'll know if it got wet or not.Sounds like it could have been wet. You could try replacing the keyboard.
