Virus or PC problem?

Sounds like a hardware problem. And since your computer is failing like that, my guess is it is the hard drive making that noise. You need to isolate the location of that noise. If it is coming from the hard drive I suggest you back up your data *immediately* using some kind of CDROM based disk imaging software where you can boot to the cd (so you use the hard drive as little as possible). One such program is Image For Linux (http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm)

SATELLITE M35X-S329 sartup problem and freezes

I worked on one of these a few months back, it about drove me the nuthouse!!!!!!! after some long hours of going over every chip and connection in that laptop, and by now a couple more gray hairs, I started my search for help. It turns out there was a class action law suit for this product (not sure now on date) but I'm sure of the M35X. There is a issue with stress fractures in the motherboard, along with a couple of bad soldering connections on the board as well. This one I was working on was so strange it even started to boot as I had the HD half way out of the machine and no battery!!! Sounds like you need a new board, sorry! Just make sure if you do, get a good warranty and extend it!

FixYa solutions for every thing Resent problems with my Gateway CX200X Tablet PC made me believe it was infected beyond a virus scan repair. It would NOT let me Virus scan, quick restore to a previous date, go to safe mode it would divert to set up screen and it would not read restore disc. I took out the internal battery and exterior battery over night and the next day quick restored to a month earlier then full scanned twice with Microsoft Essentials, cleaned the disc and defragged. It still would divert to setup screen instead of safe mode. MSN Messenger would repeatedly return to startup list after running msconfig, even though I removed it from the computer. The last straw was when after many adjustments to Power options, the screen would turn off not the hard drive or go into standby. Nor, would the screen come back on. I manually induced standby using the FN and F3 buttons. It worked, for about a half hour when the computer started on it's own. After saving what I needed off the hard drive to a Flash Stick, I full restored using the 2 discs except just before it was done (about 93%) it would turn off the laptop. Restart would show blue screen showing, NTLDR is missing. I removed the receiver for wireless mouse and... Restored again, and c000021a (fatal system error). Restored again, "windows could not start the following is missing or corrupt: windows root>\system32\ntsoskrnl.exe" Restored again, windows could not start the following is missing or corrupt: windows root>\system32\HAL,DLL. Restored again, windows could not start the following is missing or corrupt: windows root>\system32\RMCast.sys Is the corruption on the hard drive or in deeper? Would replacing the HDD be the cure?

Battery fell out while plugged into ac adapter

Could fall out (if your laptop is a little 'aged' and missing the securing clips!)It's likely that your sudden loss of power has caused a operating system corruption causing it to not boot anymore. If the laptop isn't powering on at all it's likely to be a hardware problem. Try leaving it on charge for an hour or so un-touched, or take it to a repair-man.If you can at least power it on my first suggestion would be to try loading Windows in Safe Mode (tap the F8 key just before the Windows logo displays). Try and back-up any important files and restore your computer using any disks the manufactor supplied when you bought it.

Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.

If you are able to hear sound while starting PC issue is not with sound card. that is installed and working properly. If you are clicking on any file that is not playing then window media player is not supporting that file. If you are directly opening window media player from start>>Program>>access>>>>window player and it is giving error. It mean that your player is corrupted. You can upgrade that with higher version of player by going this link. www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/9series/player.aspx

I have a Toshiba Satellite R10 Model PSR10C-AN303E Laptop. I had lost the screen (went blank) last year. After googling I fixed the problem by opening the laptop and plugging backin the wires that came uplugged after the screen was repetitavely turned in the wrong direction. I was not able, however, to fix the "WEAK WIFI". The laptop work when plugged directly into router and is really weak wirelessly even if quite close to wireless router (its in the same room). I thought i would bypass the problem and but a wireless plug in, but that didnt make it any better. Can anyone point me in the right direction. thanks martina <[email protected]>

Could be due to neighbours using WI Fi and interferring with your Wi- FI . Log into Wireless router and change the channel number from auto to the lowest channel number available plus 3 so it is different to all the people who use the auto channel mode.
