I have M7 restore disks made off of my M7 hard drive. I'll mail them to you if you pay for shipping and the 4 DVDs....say $15? Then you can restore and the restore tools will be restored to your computer as part of the restore.

I want to completly restore my Tecra M4 to an "as delivered" condition. What keys do I press at start up to do this?? Or is there another technique??

Hold down the zero (0) key on the Tecra keyboard whilst turning the power on. You should hear a series of beeps and be presented with a restore menu where you select option 1, 2 or 3 depending on your circumstances.

Hi First you need to make the USB CD-rom Drive as the first boot device by going to BIOS setup by tapping F2 when the system turns ON , after changing the boot order insert the first disc and restart the computer it should run from the disc.

Notbook is crashing

Hi. This could be as simple as a loose or poor connection somewhere. There are a couple of things that I would look at. Firstly, try another ac mains adaptor incase the power lead is intermittent. Next you could look at the power socket on the back of the laptop. These can play up and sometimes are responsible for poor connections. The above will be made worse if you have removed the battery or if the battery is old or poor. Put a decent battery in and keep it charged even if you are using a power adaptor. If there are breaks in power the battery will act as a reservoir and prevent dropouts. You say that it crashes when you move it, is it ok when you leave on a table and operate it? The only other thing I can think of is that there could be a loose connection inside the unit. I would check out the connection ribbons before pulling out chipsets or motherboards. Good luck..

I have a lifebook t2440 i tired to put windows xp home editon it went to setup and started sherching for a pervious operating system and it came back and said no hard disk drive found.what versions of windows can i use and where can i get a restore disk or download it from

That happens because the BIOS uses a SATA controller that is not included in Windows XP install disk. Usually you can solve the problem going to BIOS settings and changing SATA/RAID settings.Check your BIOS settings, and disable SATA RAID mode. This is done in different ways depending on the BIOS. On HP/Compaq computers for example you press F2 on startup to enter BIOS, then disable SATA mode on bios settings. On other makes the procedure can be slightly different. Another way to fix the problem, is by creating your own XP setup disk with SATA drivers included, see: Resolving "Setup did not find any hard disk drives" during Windows .

Will not start up after system recovery done with disks.

If you have a Windows XP or Windows Vista CD (or if you can borrow one), insert it into the CD Drive and restart the system. Boot from the CD, and choose the "R" for Repair console.Log onto the Windows installation you want to repair. At the prompt, type FIXMBR and answer yes.Type exit.
