Reformat the had drive and install a fresh copy of OS from the compact disc.... once the installation is complete, boot up the computer again... if it works, then every thing is perfect....you can go ahead and install the drivers for your devices in the compter... please clarify if you have any further troubles in installing the OS in your computer...

My daughters hp tx2500z will not boot up. I am able to get an intial screen and the windows circle then the screen goes blank. The led lights are all still on and the fan is still running. I have tried doing a number of suggestions that the hp web sight has stated including a complete system reinstall. Everything goes through successfully and when it comes time to do the start up again the same blank screen shows up. I checked the hard drive and that tested good as well as the internal memory. Have you any ithe suggestions?

Remove the hdd and power it up. If no picture then the GPU has failed. Try an external monitor.

I'm trying to reinstall XP on my sisters viewsonic V1250s and I cant get it to load. I have the recovery cd's and an external cd drive. Her roomate put linux on it and jacked it up. I put in a new HDD and when I try to load XP from the recovery disks i get a blue screen of death telling me to check the disk or that it has a virus when I try using an external cd drive to load it. I tried loading dos 7.1 and then copying the I386 folder but cant get windows to load that way either. Why this didnt have an internal cd drive built in is beyond me. And why send recovery CD's if they wont load on it? I really need help getting this back up. I need to know how to load the recovery cds on this, and how to get the laptop to boot from the CD. Many thanks for any help

Hello, first of all, the XP media has to be "bootable". Now, you will have to format the hdd so that the Linux partition can be deleted. When this is completed, recreate the partition, generally XP will do this for you, try booting with the restore cd's again and it should work, start the install....cheers

Gateway Tablet, BSOD unmountable_boot_volume

You have to go to gateway and download the driver for the SATA controller then save it to floppy or cd then hit F6 durning install then it will ask you for the driver. This Tablet will not see a non-gateway cd if you have the one that came with the tablet then you are good, but if not you will need to do this for the current drive or if yo upgrade to newer drive. Hope this get you started, I had this same problem and I thought it was my motherboard was bad because it would not see the hard drive during installation. This fixed my issue with the drive not being seen during installation of the OS.

Boot up problem

This is a easy fix all you need is a windows xp installation disk.what you do is put the disk in and boot off of the cd option.if you need help with the xp cd installation i can write up a guide for you.also is the first harddrive new or came with the comp.if it is a new harddrive it might not have a operating system on it.email me if you have anymore qeustions or you want the guide.i can even make a video for you but it probably won't be good quality.

Boot up problem

NOTE: Ususally when computers DO NOT find any startup information on the SELECTED DRIVE (like when you click a key) it goes to the default drive.WHICH IS YOUR HARD DRIVE.Meaning it is probably your Harddrive is broken, or your connection from hard drive to motherboard is brokenBurn a Live CD bootdisk of some linux distributionliek Slax, google it.Burn it to a bootable CD and put it into your drive, then select to boot from it.If it boots only using your CD ROM drive, if that works then its probably not your BIOS/rest of computer, which is good. And while in the live cd, you can see your harddrive and see files, that means its not broken its just your connection to it....either way im guessing youll have to send it in.
