I had the same problem with the n810. I was using a non-oem battery and the connections were a loose fit causing the battery not able to charge. If you take the battery cover off, hold the battery firmly in place. Connect the charger and make sure battery is charging, then press the boot button. If it boots and stays on, then shuts off when you stop holding the battery. Then you probably have a loose connection or a bad battery. Also try cleaning the connector with a pencil eraser and alcohol. I had to wedge tthe battery in place. You can find a spare battery with a desktop charger on Ebay for around $10US.

Cannot connect using wireless router

What happens, what screens are shown, does it recognize the system is even there? Go to your user manual and be certain that you are enabling the wireless system properly, open the back cover that is between the power switch and the battery to be sure your unit has a wireless card (still) and that both antennas are connected. Go to control panel and make sure your wireless settings are correct. Try a wifi card to determine if your able to connect that way. You can download a user manual at hp.com, choose the support link at center left and search for your tc1100 there. You will need a .pdf viewer to read the manual and you can save a copy to your PC as well. Better information from you makes these questions easier to answer. Best of luck! I love my tc1100 and the older brother tc1000 as well. I have several of each.

Wireless connection problems

Not exactly an ideal solution, but why not buy a cheap USB wifi card, install the software, and use that to access the net? Usually less of a hassle than trying to repair an onboard wireless device, and the plug-in ones are now quite dependable, and cheap.
