Adding memory. When I add a 1gb memory chip to the tablet and turn it on I get no display.

Same happened to me. I took out original 512K memory from internal slot under the keyboard and replaced it with a new 1G, then added a second 1G module to the external slot on the bottom of the keyboard. Worked fine (but hard drive is giving problems, so another fix is on the way). Please note that removing the keyboard has a few simple steps, but the parts are very sticky, so be careful. Hope this helps.

How can I get the tablet fix because it cannot connect to WiFi , Facebook , google, and accounts

First choose a good WiFi signal receiving area.Clear the WiFi devices list from the tablet...scan again and connect. The wi-fi signal is subject to the same rules as sound or light. The more obstacles in the way, the weaker the signal. You always have the option of adding more hardware, but this may not be the best answer. If you add more devices, called bridges, they will connect to the original wi-fi source, then repeat the signal and extent the range of the network. The best way to amplify signal is to chose a good location for the source. Given that your modem is in a specific location in the house, you can use a long ethernet cable and place the wi-fi device in a central spot in the house, allow the waves to spread before hitting the first wall. Apart from this check whether your system is clear from cache, cookies, virus etc. You can also have a look in to improve the signal. After you have tried some of this, try your connection again using and see if you get improved speed results. If you are not satisfied Call your Internet service provider (ISP) and check whether upgradation of your plan is necessary

When I turn on my tablet the screen that just shows my name and time and some dots. if you cannot do the dots in the correct pattern you cannot get to the main menu. Where can I get to the main menu

The "dots" on the screen are the security measure and require the correct pattern to unlock. This was enacted by someone (yourself or someone you know who had access to the tablet) as a measure to keep others out of personal information. I would direct you to the website for instructions on a hard reset of the tablet. Keep in mind that the security solutions are designed to keep others out of your tablet. If this was your intention, it is working too well. Choices are limited...remember/figure out the pattern, or reset the tablet and loose all data. I'm sorry this happened but there's really no "crack" or shortcut around the security measure.

Gateway M275 display scambles

I suspect it may be a problem with the video cable coming from the convertible tablet, up through the hinged support for the LCD screen, AND/OR the screen Inverter.I would like you to connect a VGA monitor, to the VGA port on the back of the convertible tablet. The VGA monitor will now be an External Monitor.[ Looking at the rear of the convertible tablet, start at the Left side.Vent, USB port, Monitor port. The Monitor port is the VGA port ]The VGA monitor can be a CRT type, (Looks like a small TV), or a flat LCD screen monitor with a VGA cable.Notebook OFF, monitor OFF, connect the VGA monitor to the M275's VGA connector. (Port)Turn the monitor on. If a CRT type, allow it to warm up.Turn the notebook on.By the factory default settings, whatever is shown on the convertible tablet's internal monitor, should now be shown on the external monitor.(VGA monitor)If not, press, and hold down on the Fn key (On the bottom row of the Keyboard, all the way to the Left), and tap once on the F3 key.(Top row of Function keys. The F3 key is the Display Toggle-Over Key )No graphics shown on the external monitor? Hold down on the Fn key again, and tap the F3 key again. There are at least three options available;1) Convertible tablet's internal monitor - ONLY2) Convertible tablet, AND external monitor3) External monitor - ONLYIf graphics are fine on the external monitor, you have a problem with the video cable, and/or the screen Inverter. At this time we will bypass the LCD screen, and come back to it.At the bottom/middle of the tablet's LCD screen, is the Hinge. The Hinge Cover is 'T shaped', and has one single Philips screw holding it on.If you remove the screw, and the Hinge Cover, you will see two wire harnesses. One Black, the other White.See that these two cables are plugged in tightly to the connector. After checking this step come back in a Comment, and state your findings.Regards, joecoolvette[ Additionally; Here is the Service Manual (Free) for the Gateway M275 Convertible Tablet, it states - Gateway 400, go down to the second line, and across to M275. Left-click on M275.This is a PDF file. It may take up to 30 seconds before the first page comes up.

How do I get my tablet to turn on

It sounds like it may not be fully charging. If the port on the tablet is loose/damaged or the cable/charger is failing, then the tablet may not be charging even though its plugged in. If you can, try a different cable. Make sure the charger is the correct one for the tablet! Some tablets require more electrical current then a computer's USB port provides. Same thing applies if you are using a 'phone' charger with the tablet, might not be enough current. Most USB ports/chargers output about 5 volts DC (direct current), but they can vary in the amount of Amps (A) or mili-Amps (mA) they produce. FYI - the symbol used to represent Direct Current is straight horizontal line with a dashed horizontal line directly under it. Most computer USB ports only produce 500mA. Most phone chargers only produce 1A. Many tablets require 2.1A or 2.4A to properly charge. Check with your tablet manufacturer to find out what your specific make/model requires and the look closely at the charger you are using to see what the OUTPUT is ... e.g. 5.2V 2.4A
