Thinkpad tablet pen problem

It could be a problem with the pen but I am not positive. I knew someone who had a problem a little different from this but involving the pen not working how it should. They called the company they got the laptop from (Gateway in their case) and they were sent a new pen for free. Lenovo might do that if it's under warranty or you could buy a new pen. It could be a problem with the drivers, though, in which case I am not entirely sure what to do. Maybe reinstall?

Screeching noise My thinkpad x60 tablet has started to make a screeching noise a lot of times when I turn the sound up. I dual boot vista and ubuntu but the noise is only in vista and I do not hear it when I go into rescue and recovery either. It sounds like a feedback problem from the onboard mic because whenever I rub my finger against the mic I can hear it through the speakers and the screeching noise changes. I have tried turning the sound down on the mic all the way to zero, but I can still hear the screeching noise and I can still hear noise from the mic through the speakers. I tried disabling the mic, but it disabled my entire speaker system and everything and I had to reinstall soundMAX. After doing that I got my sound back but the mic also. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Right click on the speaker icon in your taskbar, select Open Volume Control. If you do not see the Microphone control select options>properties and select it from the list of check boxes. Press OK. Check the mute box for your microphone.

My Battery is not working!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Discharging the battery will not harm the battery. Lenovo purposely has an annoyingly slow recharge rate because a quick recharge will shorten the life of the battery. It is not a problem if you have the patience to allow a long recharge. Otherwise spring for a second battery for quick replacement when AC power is not accessible.

Slow computer I have a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad X61 Tablet PC and am surprised at how slow it is. And this is right out of the box! Anyone had this problem? Any ideas to make it more zippy?

The reason may be one or more problems acting together. The problem nowadays is that it is very difficult and time consuming to monitor and take care of your Lenovo PC. Even experienced users find it hard to perform such tasks on regular basis because you might need to prepare a huge amount of time and energy to deal with each issue separately. If you want to fix the problems more efficiently, try the Lenovo speed up program, available here:!

Problem with Hard Drive

The easiest way to do that is to purchase an external enclosure for your type of desktop hard drive. They come with usb, firewire or both types of connections. It is a simple matter to remove the hard drive from the desktop and install in the enclosure. Plug it in and connect to your notebook. The enclosure will be seen as another hard drive and you can then copy what you need from the desktop hard drive to the notebook. Once on the notebook you can burn to dvd's if you like. This will not work for copying programs. They may still work, navigate to the program folder on the hard drive, find the application folder, open it and find the starting icon, right click on it and send to desktop. All this is moot if the drive itself is too damaged to spin.

Tablet PC 2005 Input Panel won't work.

Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.
