Degraded Vista to XP.....Driver Issues

Unfortunately, there is limited driver support for the HP Pavilion tx1308nr. This means that HP intended for you to use Vista only. Additionally, HP does not provide driver support for all the hardware onboard for this particular model laptop. Your best bet is to revert back to Vista and shut off all of the unnecessary services that will likely hinder the laptop's performance. Your other solution is to purchase a product called Driver Detective, which attempts to locate missing or outdated drivers for you. Unfortunately, this is not a definite solution and it costs money. Goodluck

Fresh vista install won't take and laptop acts all goofy

Seems like a hardware problem...Hard Disk Probably.but don't take chances...first remove any external hardware attached [usb, printer etc.remove the battery also]then try to install the OS use another CD or you can even use Windows XP.Make sure you change the SATA setting in the BIOS for XP. You did not mention the error message or when does it hangs while installing Vista.Try changing the Hard Disk.If there's still problem then it's your motherboard. As far as overheating is concerned you need to see how long does it remain powered on.And when you switch it on again does it turns off quicker than before. Take it to the service center.

Operating system The University recently purchased a Samsung Q1 Ultra to help our Trades workers with a mobile work solution. Unfortunatley the University will not allow any VISTA OS computers on the Unversity's network due to security issues. Samsung's literature claims the Ultra will work with XP but they do not supply drivers for XP (DOES THAT SOUND STRANGE TO YOU TOO?) I can insatll XP but do not have drivers for the Ethernet controller(s), SB Bus Contoller or the Video Controller(s). Anyone have any idea where to get these drivers?

Here you go:Samsung Q1 XP and Vista drivers

My son's portege M750 won't load--is stuck on the "please wait" windows Vista business page. has this issue whether trying battery, alternate battery, or power cord. Just started withthis problem.

Hello :While computer is starting[not while OS is loading but before that] just keep clicking on F8 repeatedly .A screen of booting choices will appear . Just click on [Safe mode ].Now you'll be able to log into your system but in [Safe mode ] . Now you need to restore the system to a previous point (time) , as it was working well . Don't know how to restore , then I'll tell you . Just click {Start} on the taskbar . then [all programs] just keep moving up to [accessories] after that [system tools] . there you'll find [restore system] . Just restore your system to the previous point (time) you like and problem will be solved . If that didn't solve the problem , then enter in the [Safe mode ] again and just scan your system for viruses . Some viruses can cause such a problem . good luck .

Why can't my iPad see the full amount of widescreen when I watch films?

I answered this before. Please look at all answered problems before asking questions. Others have probably already given you the information. Here is my answer:There is no way to edit the screen ratio on the new iPad or any iPad for that matter. They went with 4:3 because the majority of users use the device to browse the internet and read e-magazines or e-books on it. As you know the screen gets cut off when you go to fullscreen or it has those annoying black bars above and below. If you're looking to watch video do it on a computer or your TV. The new iPad isn't made for heavy video watching IMO.

IBM X60 laptop won't start

It really does sound like a hardware problem, perhaps a motherboard/processor/memory issue. If there is no beeping but just humming that is just the fan and drives kicking up.I would recommend you take it into a repair shop and have them diagnose the issue.

You did not mention what windows version you are running. Do you have a boot disk? Also, are you pressing F2 F12 or F10 or what other option work when you first turn on your compute? Once you are in the advance mode make sure the settings in the bios is set to boot from the USB before the hard drive. If you go into advanced options, you should be able to run a scan of your computer to find errors.
