Suggested Questions And Answer :

I need to install an operating system on a Samsung q1 ultra

Suggest you use an external DVD drive, and put your installation disk in it. Then access the BIOS Setup utility. In BIOS Setup, find the Boot Order menu. (Generally, along the top headings of the main menu, in BIOS Setup, or located in Advanced BIOS Settings) Set the first boot device to be CDROM. Be sure to Save your change. This way the handheld, will boot from the installation disk, in your external DVD drive. Should you be trying to downgrade from Vista to XP, you have to change the first boot device, in Boot Order to CDROM. If not, Vista won't let you overwrite it.Vista is an upgrade over XP.

You need to use partition software to repartition the new drive to " see" the larger drive with free space. This can be done before or afte. Operating system The University recently purchased a Samsung Q1 Ultra to help our Trades workers with a mobile work solution. Unfortunatley the University will not allow any VISTA OS computers on the Unversity's network due to security issues. Samsung's literature claims the Ultra will work with XP but they do not supply drivers for XP (DOES THAT SOUND STRANGE TO YOU TOO?) I can insatll XP but do not have drivers for the Ethernet controller(s), SB Bus Contoller or the Video Controller(s). Anyone have any idea where to get these drivers?

Here you go:Samsung Q1 XP and Vista drivers

I replaced the 30 G toshiba HDD that was not functioning on my LE1600 Motion tablet with a 60 G toshiba HDD and tried to install windows xp from an external CDD. It formated the drive and installed the operating system, but on boot up I get the message PXE-E61 ...check cable...exit...operating system not found.

Tried the same thing and got the same result using the motion computing DVD/CD external reader/burner. Has anyone found an answer to this problem of trying to switch to a larger hard drive on the 1600 with format/installing? The new hard drive was not able to read the recovery disk with OS on it.Thanks.
