Hi I have a toshiba portege m750 and my little brother was using it and I have decided to use it for college but the only thing is he cannot remember I was just wondering how would I go about changing the password or would I have to reboot it ?! I am in desperate need as I am entering my final year in college and this laptop is essential to me. Thank you for your help

You can set a user password from inside Windows. From the configuration panel look for an icon that represents two persons and click on it. Follow instructions on setting a user password. You can also set a password on boot but you have to be careful: If you forget it you cannot open the tablet to remove the password. You will need to take the computer to a Toshiba Certified Service Center. To set the password on boot you can use the BIOS SetUp configuration or a Toshiba Windows applications (HRWset). For Windows XP tablet PC edition 2005If you have the CrossMenu application you can run the HRWsetup from there. You can also go to All programs, Toshiba Utilities and look for HRWSetUp.For Windows Vista or Windows 7, the name of the application may be Toshiba Security Assist.Be very careful. You must not lose the password

The keyboard doesn't come up when needed, just a mic symbol. I've tried changing the default voice type on Language set-up but it won't change. I can't even enter my wi-fi password.

I'll do my best to help you out. Since this is an old Android version. Go to settings>language and input (or maybe in this case input)> from here you should be able to choose the keyboard, try by tapping different options until you see the choice of activating different keyboards. Pan easier way is to use a regular PC, log in to our gmail account by going to, and download a keyboard of your preference, it will download automatically on your tablet. After it download, once you tap the keyboard icon, it will take you step by step on how to activate it in rider to use it. Try Swiftkey.

A13 tablet launcher not working due to density

I just did something exactly like this on my phone. Here's what I did for solving it. NOTE: you will need access to a PC with internet connection and your problem Device must have access to the internet. You also need access to the PLAY store on both the PC and the problem device. From what I understand from reading your explanation this should not be a problem.1 - Start your Device as normal and when you get the force close message go to the Report option.2 - Once on the report screen (accept the terms and conditions if they appear) you should be able to pull down the notifications bar.3. On the PC go to the play store (you must log in with the same account as the one in your problem device)4. Search for a different Launcher and install it through the play store on your PC. (I used Zeam Launcher for resolving my issue but I did this on a phone so it might not be available for a tablet. You can search for Launcher and find one that way)5. The new launcher should automatically start downloading and installing on your problem device. You should be able to see this happening on the notification bar.6. Once finished, just go back to the main screen. You should get the option of what launcher to use. Select the newly installed launcher. (do no use the default option).7. Once in the new launcher, go to the density changer application and change it back to the original density.8. Reboot your tablet and it should now work correctly.NOTE #2: I did this on a phone. I've never owned a tablet so I'm not 100% sure this will work for you.Hope this helps solve your problem.
