How can I break at bios password on a travelmate c110

Be VERY VERY wary if your bios suddenly asks for a password without you setting one. A blue screen which is then followed by the bios asking for a password could very well be the result of an attempt (successful or not) by malicious software to embed itself in your bios. This specialised attack is un-dettectable by anti-virus programs because it resides on the motherboards BIOS E_PROM and survives even if the hard-drive is replaced and a clean OS is loaded. This sort of attack isn't from people interested in using your computer as a mere spam-bot, it's far, far, far more serious than that. I'll say no more!I know this is an old thread but people with the same problem in future will see this while searching for similar problems.

Boot up problem

NOTE: Ususally when computers DO NOT find any startup information on the SELECTED DRIVE (like when you click a key) it goes to the default drive.WHICH IS YOUR HARD DRIVE.Meaning it is probably your Harddrive is broken, or your connection from hard drive to motherboard is brokenBurn a Live CD bootdisk of some linux distributionliek Slax, google it.Burn it to a bootable CD and put it into your drive, then select to boot from it.If it boots only using your CD ROM drive, if that works then its probably not your BIOS/rest of computer, which is good. And while in the live cd, you can see your harddrive and see files, that means its not broken its just your connection to it....either way im guessing youll have to send it in.

Cannot Load Windows/Windows Setup Does Not Detect Hardrive

I'd repaired many laptops where it's unable to detect the hard drive when installing OS but is able to see the hard drive when in Boot Selection or in ROM Based Setup (Bios Setup Utility). Most of the time, it's not because of the HARD DRIVE, it's because of the CD-ROM, even though it looks like it's reading fine... In some laptops and MOST of them, if the CD-ROM fails, it will not work properly and will cause the laptop to not detect the hard drive, etc. Make sure that the CD-ROM is tuck in tightly and locked. Try removing it and then putting it back in.
